About Mid Devon Wildlife

Mid Devon Wildlife was formed by a group of enthusiasts in 1981 and holds regular meetings based in Tiverton.


New members and visitors are always welcome at meetings for a nominal charge.
There are also field trips throughout the year.

Our aims are to:

  • promote interest in wildlife
  • study and learn about wildlife
  • protect species of wildlife and the environment support,
  • lead or participate in conservation projects
  • promote the exchange of ideas with other wildlife and conservation groups
  • arrange regular indoor meetings and visits to places of interest

The part you can play

If you are interested in any aspect of natural history, wildlfie or conservation you are welcome to join the Society. See the section on membership to find out more. Our activities include monthly meetings with talks from leading experts and outdoor visits. We also have an active WhatsApp group (members only) allowing people to share material, ask for advice, or for help with the ID of a wide range of species from other members. A newsletter is published three times a year, which includes articles by many of the members on their work and observations. Contributions are always welcome. Subscriptions are due on January 1st each year. Committee
